Our chapter was founded at the end of 2000, just before the second Millennium.
We are one of the newest recognized chapters affiliated with FHANA, The Friesian Horse
Association of North America.
Our membership is open to Friesian owners and enthusiasts
from the states of Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania,
Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, North Carolina and South Carolina.
We have also reached out to
folks from other Eastern states who wish to be part of our community.
We currently have breeders, owners, trainers, artists, and future
Friesian owners in our membership. |

MAFA is a recognized chapter of the Friesian Horse Association
of North America ("FHANA").
As such, your officers work hard to get the lastest FPS happenings to you. The MAFA
officers also communicate frequently with FHANA to help our members with events such as the
annual inspections ("keurings"), and possible clinics.
But MAFA provides much more than FHANA/FPS communications. We provide a community
of active members who are encouraged to participate and communicate with fellow
club members. This website is one vehicle for information sharing.
As a member, you can actively contribute to your site by:
• submitting upcoming events
• sending your best pics fro inclusion in the photo gallery
• adding a news item of interest
• placing a classified ads
• meeting other members through the MAFA membership directory
• keeping your membership profile up-to-date so others can find you
• viewing all MAFA newsletters
• creating private (only MAFA members can view) events for
special activities such as trail rides, picnics
and other local/regional get-togethers.
